Fall 2016 Fact Sheet
Traffic Alert– Church Avenue at Sixth Street Intersection Closure
The City of Tucson has issued the below Traffic Release regarding utility relocation work which is being done in preparation of the upcoming Downtown Links project.
Church Avenue at Sixth Street will close for about 30 days starting next Monday, Aug. 29, to allow crews from Tucson Electric Power Co. and its contractor to remove underground power lines and pull boxes in preparation for the Downtown Links Phase III – Church Avenue to Broadway project that’s scheduled to begin early next year. The project to link Barraza-Aviation Parkway and Interstate 10 includes improved access and connections for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists. It also will provide new and safer underpasses, overpasses and railroad crossings, drainage improvements, multi-use paths, improved sidewalks and bike lanes, and public art.
For more information, call the Downtown Links Information Line at (520) 622-9000. Downtown Links is funded by the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA), the City of Tucson, and Pima County.
