How Monsoons Affect Construction

While we welcome the rains and cooling effects of our monsoon storms, they can also cause delays in construction, and damage that may cause setbacks in the construction timeline.

This photo from July 12, 2021 shows the tremendous  force of the storm water rushing over and through both the old Reinforced Concrete Box Culvert (RCBC) (toward the top of the photo) and the larger, newly constructed RCBC near Seventh Street and Seventh Avenue.

The water coming through the old RCBC almost filled both barrels and went up and over the walls of the new RCBC.

The second photo below, near the same area, shows the storm water filling up the streets.
