Pre-Construction Field Activities
Downtown Links Constructors (DLC), under contract with the City of Tucson Transportation Department, continue pre-construction field activities as they prepare for roadway construction. The traveling public will see equipment, work crews and short-term traffic control during this investigative phase of work which includes; surface, subsurface, geotechnical, environmental and survey verifications. The traveling public should anticipate the following traffic closures:
- On Monday, January 13, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., the outside lane of northbound Stone Avenue will be closed between Sixth and Fifth streets. Turn movements and access to businesses in the area will be maintained.
- On Monday, January 13, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., parking will not be permitted along Fifth Street, from Stone to Echols Avenue.
- On Tuesday, January 14, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. eastbound Fifth Street, between Echols and Stone avenues will be closed. Access to businesses will be maintained.
- On Tuesday, January 14, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Echols Avenue will be closed from Sixth Street to Fifth Street.
- On Wednesday, January 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the outside lane of southbound Stone Avenue will be closed from Fifth to Sixth streets.
- Right (westbound) turn movements from Stone Avenue to Fifth Street will not be permitted.
- Westbound turn movements from Stone Avenue to Sixth Street will be maintained.
- Northbound Stone Avenue travel will NOT be impacted.
- Access to businesses will be maintained.
- On Wednesday, January 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the westbound lane of Fifth Street will be closed from Stone to Ash Avenue. Business access and parking will be maintained.
- On Thursday, January 16, and Friday, January 17, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, Seventh Avenue will have the following restrictions:
- There will be sidewalk closures and parking restrictions along Southbound Seventh Avenue from Sixth Street to just south of Fifth Street.
- There will be parking restrictions along northbound Seventh Avenue from Sixth Street to just south of Fifth Street.
The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

The traveling public will see equipment, work crews and short-term traffic control during this investigative phase of work which includes; surface, subsurface, geotechnical, environmental and survey verifications. The traveling public should anticipate the following traffic closures:
- On Monday, December 16 and Tuesday, December 17, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, parking will not be permitted on north or southbound Seventh Avenue between Sixth and Seventh streets. Access to businesses in the area will be maintained.
- On Wednesday, December 18, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Arizona Avenue will be closed at the intersection of Seventh Street.
- On Wednesday, December 18, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. westbound Sixth Street will be reduced to one travel lane between Echols and Stone avenues. Access to businesses and turn movements will be maintained.
- On Thursday, December 19, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. northbound Sixth Avenue will be closed between Sixth and Seventh streets.
- All northbound Sixth Avenue traffic will be required to turn either right or left at Seventh Street.
- Southbound Sixth Avenue travel will NOT be impacted.

- On Thursday, December 19, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. the two-way bike lane along the eastside of Stone Avenue will be closed between Toole Avenue and Council Street. Parking will not be affected.
- On Friday, December 20, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. the sidewalk along the southside of Sixth Street will be closed between Church and Main avenues.
- During this work, equipment for the pothole operations will be located on Meyer Avenue, south of the neighborhood wall. Access to residents on Meyer Avenue will not be

- On Thursday, December 12, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Echols Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Access to residents and businesses in the area will be maintained.
- On Friday, December 13, from 7 a.m. to noon, parking along the northbound side of Seventh Avenue, between Sixth and Fifth avenues will not be permitted. Access to businesses and all turn movements will be maintained.

- On Friday, December 6, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. northbound Ferro Avenue will be closed at Seventh Street. Southbound travel on Ferro Avenue will be permitted.
- On Friday, December 6, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. parking along the north side of Seventh Street, between Seventh and Ferro avenues will not be permitted.
Additional notifications will be sent prior to changes in traffic control during ongoing phases of the field activities.
